Meet senior Cross Country runner, Yurisia Garcia

After High school Yurisia plans are to attend college and pursue a career as a pediatrician. She is currently enrolled at Higher Ed and is involved in Leaflets, National Honor Society, Upward Bound, Precious Pearls of Ardmore, and Student Council. Garcia’s cousins Ali & Sofia Garia inspired her to run cross country when she was in the 7th grade. She would like to thank her family and her running partner Destini Sampson for motivating her and pushing her to do her best.

Meet senior Cross Country runner, Destini Sampson

Destini’s plans after high school are to attend college and major in physical therapy. Sampson mentioned her friend named Darian for being the one to inspire her to do cross country/track and why she also became very dedicated to the sport. "If it wasn’t for her then I wouldn’t be running today." She would also like to thank her coaches Steve Wright, Chris Pelton, and Brenda Mchatton for making cross country/track interesting and for putting in their time, especially Coach Mchatton. Destini is also an active member of AHS Student Council.

Do you recognize this guy? That’s 2017 Ardmore High School Graduate, Wil Nightengale. Wil studied percussion at OU for three years, and after successfully negotiating a rigorous audition process, is a new member of the prestigious Pride of Oklahoma Drum Line! Way to go Wil!! Ardmore Tiger Proud!!
